Who operates Friday
Friday Assistant is a personal assistant operated by the owner of tangentbeing.com for a dedicated Gmail account. It is not offered as a public, multi-user service. Contact: fridaythebutler@gmail.com.
Information accessed
After the owner grants Google authorization, Friday can access the connected Gmail account's address, message headers, bodies, message and thread identifiers, labels and mailbox metadata. Its requested Gmail permission also allows sending and mailbox changes, which the local approval service restricts to individually approved actions. OAuth tokens are held by that service and are not included in model prompts.
Purpose and use
Email information is used to search and summarize messages, prepare replies, and carry out mailbox actions requested and approved by the owner. Friday does not sell email information, use it for advertising, or operate a business that trains general-purpose AI models from it. Email content is treated as source material, not as permission to execute instructions within a message.
Processing and sharing
Google provides authentication and Gmail access. Hermes Agent and a local Ollama model run on the owner's home server. When a cloud model is selected, relevant prompts, email content, tool results and local-worker results are transmitted to the configured provider; the current cloud provider is OpenAI. That provider's processing, retention and model-improvement practices depend on its applicable terms and the owner's account settings. This setup does not guarantee that cloud processing remains within the home.
Recipients receive email only when the owner separately approves a send operation. Human access to local assistant records is controlled by the owner. This public information site is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process normal web-request information, such as IP addresses and request metadata, to deliver and secure the site. The site contains no advertising, analytics scripts or mailbox-access forms.
Storage and retention
Gmail messages remain in Google unless the owner approves a mailbox operation. Selected content may also be retained in local conversations, summaries, action records and backups. Pending approval requests expire after 24 hours, but expiration does not erase their stored records. Local records remain until the owner removes them; no automatic deletion period is currently configured. Cloud-provider retention is governed separately by the provider and the owner's settings.
Controls and protection
Gmail credentials are stored under a separate operating-system account with restricted file permissions. Sending, Gmail draft creation and mailbox changes require administrator approval bound to the exact proposed action. Permanent deletion is not offered by the approval service. The private dashboard is accessed through an SSH tunnel.
Revocation, deletion and questions
The owner can revoke Friday's Google authorization through the Google Account's third-party connections settings. Revocation prevents future authorized access but does not automatically delete copies already retained in conversations, logs, backups or provider systems. For questions or requests concerning retained information, contact fridaythebutler@gmail.com; the owner reviews those requests and removes local records where applicable.
Changes
This notice will be updated when the assistant's connected services or data practices change. The date above identifies the latest version.
